Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects offer jobseekers customised employment and training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Community Literacy Program offers customised language, literacy and numeracy training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Get Set for Work offers a transition pathway towards getting a job, returning to school, or continuing with other education or training for fifteen to seventeen year olds who have left school, or are at risk of leaving before year 12.
Queenslanders Working Together is a federal government initiative administered through Skilling Queenslanders for Work which offers training and employment assistance primarily for parental and mature age jobseekers to boost employment prospects. Current projects are operating until June 2009 and no new contracts will be issued under this program.
Participate in Prosperity (PiP) is a Skilling Queenslanders for Work strategy helping link disadvantaged people who are outside the labour force with government services and assistance to create pathways to employment and increase their social inclusion.
Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future policy. A component of the job seeker training places are administered under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative to assist job seekers gain Certificate II and III level qualifications in priority skill areas. Additional job seeker places will be available through a range of strategies including a public RTO tender process administered by the Department of Education and Training.

ASSI Training & Employment Partnerships
This project will provide job preparation and accredited training for Australian South Sea Islanders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and long term unemployed who are seeking to re-enter the workforce.
Job preparation will include job search techniques and skill development with additional literacy and numeracy assessment and assistance if necessary.
Accredited training will be provided in the areas of mining, plant operation and construction Blue Card.
Back To Work 2008-09
The Back to Work Program focuses mainly on mature-age participants in rural and remote localities.
Participants will be offered a combination of accredited training modules from Certificate I in IT and non accredited job search skills.
The program is delivered with a flexible approach offering an adult learning environment, small groups, self paced and facilitated by local coordinators and presenters.
The training component will comprise job search, skills recognition, basic computer training including Microsoft Word and Internet, resume writing, interview skills and application writing skills.
CiviSkills - Wide Bay
This project aims to provide accredited training and job preparation to jobseekers in the Hervey Bay and Maryborough areas.
Through job preparation a range of activities will be offered to prepare participants for finding and retaining work.
Accredited training will include units of competencies from Resource and Infrastructure Operations, Civil Construction, and the Construction Industry Blue Card.
Employment Pathway Program
This Green Army project will provide a range of activities including work placement, job preparation and accredited training to assist the local jobseekers returning to the workforce.
Work placement participants will be planting and maintaining 5000 trees along the reconstructed Hervey Bay Esplanade.
Selected accredited modules will be delivered from Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management and Certificate II in Horticulture.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with interview skills, career planning, goal setting, and how to respond to selection criteria.
Employment Pathway Program
This project will provide work placements, job preparation assistance and accredited training to disadvantaged mature-age jobseekers in the Sunshine Coast area of Kawana Waters.
Participants will undertake fulltime employment over a fourteen-week period in administrative roles with various host employers under the Work Placement program.
Job preparation assistance in communication, teamwork, time management, interview skills and goal setting will also be offered as well as accredited training in Certificate II in Business and Certificate III in Aged Care.
Employment Pathways Project - CiviSkills (Gladstone)
This project will assist jobseekers who are currently excluded from the labour market in the Gladstone area with job preparation and accredited training.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with workplace health and safety, employability skills, career planning, job application assistance, interview techniques and career guidance.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate I and II in Resource and Infrastructure.
Get Into Transport and Logistics
This project aims to assist unemployed and underemployed jobseekers into employment in the transport and logistics industry through the provision of accredited training, work experience opportunities and job preparation assistance.
Participants will have an initial up front assessment to establish an individualised assistance package.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate II in Transport and Logistics training packages.
Gidarjil Indigenous Job Training
This project will assist Indigenous people from the Bundaberg area with work placement.
Participants will gain a variety of hands-on experience including basic construction, workplace communication, handle construction materials, basic levelling procedures, concreting, rejuvenation and conservation of natural bushland reserve and restoration of recreation areas.
IETS - Making a Difference
This project aims to provide a flexible range of integrated services for underemployed and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders from Bundaberg, Gayndah and Mundubbera.
Job preparation assistance will include job search techniques, time management, personal development, cultural empowerment and self-esteem building.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate I in General Construction and Certificate I in Rural Operations.
Work placement participants will undertake work activities in basic construction.
Indigenous Mentor
This project will continue to support the Central Queensland Ports Authority implement a Mentor program to assist and support Indigenous trainees engaged in local projects.
The mentors will liaise directly with local Indigenous youth and provide ongoing support for both employees and employers.
Indigenous People Working Together
This project aims to assist Indigenous participants prepare for employment in construction, horticultural and local government areas.
Participants will undertake work placements with the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
Participants will complete the Blue Card in Construction and undertake activities such as landscaping, foreshore restoration, construction of playground equipment, picnic and BBQ areas, paving, painting, irrigation and maintaining and servicing equipment.
Indigenous Work Placement Partnership Program
This project will provide assistance to Indigenous jobseekers to develop sound construction labourer skills.
Participants will undertake a "live-in" work preparation program before commencing their work placement on a road project being run by Main Roads, Road Tek and the Central Highlands Regional Council.
Participants will also undertake accredited training in Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations.
LITE (Linking Industry Training Employment)
This project will assist jobseekers from Mackay and surrounding areas back into the workforce through a combination of job preparation and accredited training assistance.
Accredited and non-accredited training will be offered in office administration, engineering, personal development and career development.
Participants will receive work experience with local organisations.
MADEC Job Skills Mackay
This project aims to assist in addressing the shortage of skilled disability support workers and business administration officers in the Mackay area.
Participants will undertake job preparation activities and accredited training will consist of selected training modules from Certificate II in Business and Certificate III in Disability Work to provide an introductory level to either industry.
Motivation, Accreditation, Training & Employment Skills
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation, work placements, Green Army work placements and accredited training.
Work placement participants will undertake work activities such as creating furniture from recycled timber, establishing a native plant nursery, clearing and regenerating council land.
Accredited training will include selected modules in furniture making, horticulture, hospitality, retail operations, information technology and outdoor recreation.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with job search techniques, communication, team work, problem solving and language, literacy and numeracy.
Office 101
This project will provide job preparation and accredited training for participants from the Rockhampton area.
Job preparation activities will include job search techniques, communication, time and conflict management and literacy and numeracy.
Accredited training will consist of three competencies form Certificate I in Information Technology covering general use of computers.
Outback Tourism Upskilling
This project aims to assist in addressing identified labour shortages within the tourism industry in the Central West and Far West regions.
Participants will be offered job preparation activities such as basic computer training, resume writing and interview techniques.
Accredited training will consist of selected modules from Certificate II in Tourism, Certificate II in Hospitality and Certificate III in Basic Health Care.
Returning to work placement
This project aims to assist participants from the Mackay area with activities that will enhance their chances of entering the workforce.
Participants will undertake job preparations activities such as workplace communication, basic computer skills, literacy and numeracy, resume development and interview techniques.
Skill Building Mackay Whitsunday
This project will assist Indigenous people from the Bowen area with work placements.
Participants will work with the Whitsunday Regional Council and undertake light construction work including concreting of walking paths, construction of barriers and railing, landscaping and horticulture work such as tree and shrub planting.
Skilling Central Queensland
This Green Army project will assist job seekers in the Central Queensland area.
Work placements will include horticulture and construction activities such as weed management, beach restoration, fencing and erosion control, revegetation, walking track construction and restoration.
Participants will also have the opportunity to undertake accredited training modules from Certificate II in Horticulture.
Skilling for the Bundaberg Workforce
This project will provide job preparation, work placement and accredited training opportunities to support long-term unemployed jobseekers' re-engagement into work.
The Green Army component of the project will help eligible jobseekers connect to employment through paid work placements undertaking practical environmental activities including dunal vegetation, revegetation of stream banks, tree planting, weed control, walking track construction and maintenance and designing, building and installing bush seating using appropriate recycled products.
Accredited training will be provided in selected modules in Hospitality, Business Administration and Conservation and Land Management.
Up-Skilling For Trades
This project aims to assist disadvantaged jobseekers enter the engineering sector of employment within the Mackay area.
Job preparation assistance being offered includes developing resumes, conducting mock interviews, and using effective communication skills.
Accredited training will include the completion of the "Career Management & Job Search" course and the full Certificate II in Engineering.
Work 'n' Place 2007/08 to 2009/10
The Work 'n' Place 2009-10 project will provide opportunities across Queensland for people suffering with mental health issues enter into ongoing paid employment.
This project is being delivered as part of the Government's commitment under the National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011.
The model developed by Mental Health Association allows for a greater deal of flexibility geographically, in the nature of work placements available to participants and in the work/study mix.
Working For Improvement Mackay Region
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation, accredited training, work placements and the State Government's new Green Army initiative.
Participants undertaking the Green Army work placements will work with Mackay Regional Council on a number of parks and gardens projects.
Other opportunities on offer include accredited training in Certificate I and II in Business, general construction and administrative work placements.
Job preparation activities will cover basic computer skills, job interview techniques, communication and cross cultural awareness.
Young Artist Mentoring Program & NAVIGATION - Arts Business Training for Emerging Artists & Art Workers 2008-2010
This project aims to offer a range of integrated services to assist young people make a career in the Arts industry.
Participants will either be mentored by a member of the arts industry with specialist support and an involvement in a project partnership, or undertake an arts business program utilising accredited training modules in Business and the Arts.

Future Focus
This project aims to re-engage school leavers and those at risk of not continuing with education through employment preparation assistance, personal development and practical vocational training.
Participants will participate in a number of outdoor activities structured to encourage communication, leadership, decision making, self esteem, self management and confidence.
They will also undertake job preparation activities such as work readiness programs, workplace health and safety processes and literacy and numeracy skills.
The accredited training component offered will include Certificate 2 and 3 in Business or Retail.
GEMS (Getting Employment Made Simple)
This project will deliver Certificate I in Work Education, Certificate II in Workplace Practices and Certificate I in Information Technology.
These Certificates will also be delivered alongside other industry specific training to suit the individuals including - Generic Inductions, First Aid Training, Blue Card in Construction and Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Program participants will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of field excursions and work related activities to complement the accredited training.
Get Set for Work
This project will assist young participants re-engage with the community through employment, training or returning to school.
All participants will complete units from Certificate I in Hospitality, Business and Agriculture as an example of industries that could be part of their career path.
Participants will also undertake a Certificate I in Work Readiness, the Safety Sense Certificate and a Literacy and Numeracy program.
Participants will also have the opportunity to undertake work experience and complete the Construction Blue Card course.
Get Set for Work - CEO North Burnett
This project aims to provide intensive case management of participants who are presently disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from school.
Literacy and numeracy skills will be a key component of the participants plan plus all participants will undertake a Construction Blue Card course to ensure awareness of work safety issues.
Creative Self Expression workshops will address confidence and self esteem, team work and positive attitude.
Additional courses to be offered include Introduction to a Barista and Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Get Set for Work - MADEC
The project will be delivered to participants in Bowen, Proserpine, Mirani, Calen and Sarina.
All participants will complete Learning and Development and Transition plans and complete a non-accredited training program called SET (Skills Employability Training).
A further 30 participants will engage in Literacy, Language and Numeracy.
The program aims to ensure that each participant has completed two forms of accredited training (Safety Construction Blue Card/Senior First Aid).
Get Set for Work - POWER (Positive Outcomes for Work, Employment and Re-engagement
This project will provide participants with pre vocational training activities such as workplace health and safety, literacy and numeracy, workplace communication and technology training.
Work experience will be a major component of the program, utilising the school/industry and community partnerships.
ASWitional training and assistance will be provided including resume development, ability to apply for a job, interview skills, work place conduct, communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, and self management.
Get Set for Work - Rockhampton Skills Centre
This project will provide early intervention for young people who have left school or are at risk of leaving school.
Participants will undertake activities to help enhance their social, life and work skills, literacy and numeracy training and job search techniques.
Work readiness activities to be offered include woodworking, mechanics, painting, cooking, carpentry, use of hand and power tools, computer skills and vocational guidance.
Get Set for Work - Young Mates
This project will work in partnership with young people to help prepare them for their transition to work or further training.
A flexible learning and transition plan will be developed for each participant.
These plans will consist of activities to help encourage confidence and self esteem including job preparation activities to increase work and social skills.
Accredited training modules will also be offered in the areas of furniture making, horticulture, hospitality, information technology or retail.
Get Set for Work CQ
This project will provide a combination of accredited training and job preparation activities for young people from the Rockhampton, Mt Morgan and Yeppoon area.
Job preparation activities will be delivered under the Ready 4 program which consists of career planning, life skills, industry information and tours, job search techniques and employment entitlements.
Accredited training will offer a number of competencies from Certificate I in Business, Certificate I in Horticulture, Certificate II in Hospitality and Blue Card training.
Get Set for Work Gladstone 2009
This project aims to assist young people from the Gladstone area prepare to enter the workforce.
Participants will be individually assessed to explore career options and will receive training in workplace communication, literacy and numeracy skills, work experience and will also be exposed to workshop roles such as boilermaker, fitter and turner and carpentry.
Accredited training will be available in areas such as engineering, construction and business and all participants will undertake Certificate I or II in Self Awareness and Development and Senior First Aid.
IMPACT - Get Set for Work
This project aims to provide accredited and non-accredited training activities for young people who have disconnected from schooling during their compulsory participation phase or are at risk of exiting from the education system.
Participants will be offered non-accredited activities to help develop life skills and competency units in the following industry areas: General Construction, Business, Community Services (Aged Care), Information Technology, Conservation & Land Management, Hospitality, Retail, Literacy/Numeracy and Vocational Education.
Six months post placement support will complete the assistance.
Our Youth and BEAT Program
This project aims to provide assistance to young people developing their full potential through employment or educational opportunities.
Participants will undertake accredited courses including Certificate I in Work Readiness, Construction Blue Card, Senior First Aid and Workplace Health and Safety.
Job preparation activities will include job search techniques, literacy and numeracy skills, basic life skills and cultural identity.
Pathways
This project aims to provide young participants with an individualised program that will determine their goals, interests, learning and support needs and to identify any barriers that could prevent them from achieving their goals.
Participants will undertake a range of job preparation activities to help prepare them for the work environment and personal development programs to motivate and build confidence.
Accredited training will include Senior First Aid, Access 10 and Industry Blue Card plus other options will be offered based on their individualised program.
SWAP - Students With A Purpose
This project aims to address skill shortages in the Engineering sector by providing a pathway for disengaged school students or students who are at risk of disengaging to enter the Engineering Industry through a targeted industry focused program.
The project will provide accredited Engineering competencies as well as Blue card and First Aid training.
Non-accredited training will include interview skills, communication, resume writing and work experience.
Tasting Tourism in the Outback
This project aims to re-establish the engagement of youth with education and or work.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop life skills, work ethics, employability skills as well as job application and interview techniques.
Participants will also undertake a First Aid course and hands on learning activities about training and career opportunities in the tourism industry.
Work Readiness Program
This project provides a range of services, support and accredited training to young people at risk of long term unemployment.
In depth Life Skill programs will assist participants with personal issues and mentoring programs will provide positive support.
Accredited training modules will be offered in areas of engineering, hospitality, furnishing, information technology, retail, health and sport and literacy and numeracy.

This project aims to respond to identified labour and skill shortages in retail, aged care and health services within the Fraser Coast region.
Participants will be given the opportunity to complete a full accredited qualification in either Certificate II in Retail, Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate III in Community Services and then undertake a work experience component designed to connect them to prospective employers.
Corridor to Careers
This project aims to respond to identified labour and skill shortages within the aged care and allied health services of the Central Queensland and Wide Bay region.
Participants will be given the opportunity to complete a full accredited qualification in either Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30102) or Certificate III in Community Services Work (CHC30802) and then undertake a work experience component designed to connect them to prospective employers.
How to Get That Job
This project will assist highly disadvantaged job-seekers (particularly Indigenous and mature-aged) in Inala, Hervey Bay, Ipswich and the Gold Coast transition into the hospitality and warehousing industries or business administration with targeted accredited training.
Participants will undertake a Certificate II in Business, Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) or Certificate II in Hospitality.
Basic job search training and career development is included.
Productivity Places Program: Cert III in Aged Care Work (2009)
This project aims to create an opportunity for participants from the Bundaberg area to move into the Aged Care industry.
Participants will be offered a flexible range of integrated employment services while undertaking a full accredited qualification in Certificate III in Aged Care.
Retail Ready Skilling PPP
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist jobseekers from Fortitude Valley, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Cairns and Maroochydore areas to obtain employment in the retail industry.
Assistance will be provided to participants with job search skills, personal development and work experience.
Participants will undertake accredited training to obtain a full qualification in either Certificate II in Retail or Certificate III in Retail.
Retail Therapy
This project is designed to address a current skill shortage in the Central Queensland region and to increase workforce participation and productivity in the retail industry.
Participants will undertake a full accredited qualification in Certificate II in Retail (SIR20207) and work experience will also be offered with local businesses.
