Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects offer jobseekers customised employment and training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Community Literacy Program offers customised language, literacy and numeracy training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Get Set for Work offers a transition pathway towards getting a job, returning to school, or continuing with other education or training for fifteen to seventeen year olds who have left school, or are at risk of leaving before year 12.
Queenslanders Working Together is a federal government initiative administered through Skilling Queenslanders for Work which offers training and employment assistance primarily for parental and mature age jobseekers to boost employment prospects. Current projects are operating until June 2009 and no new contracts will be issued under this program.
Participate in Prosperity (PiP) is a Skilling Queenslanders for Work strategy helping link disadvantaged people who are outside the labour force with government services and assistance to create pathways to employment and increase their social inclusion.
Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future policy. A component of the job seeker training places are administered under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative to assist job seekers gain Certificate II and III level qualifications in priority skill areas. Additional job seeker places will be available through a range of strategies including a public RTO tender process administered by the Department of Education and Training.

A New Day
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to jobseekers in the Townsville West community.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with skills needs analysis, personal assessment and numeracy and literacy testing.
A range of accredited training options will be made available to participants to undertake according to individual needs and preferences.
Autism - Work for Life
This project aims to assist young people with a disability prepare to enter the workforce in Cairns.
Participants will complete a Certificate I in Information Technology, a First Aid Certificate as well as learn job readiness skills.
Back To Work 2008-09
The Back to Work Program focuses mainly on mature-age participants in rural and remote localities.
Participants will be offered a combination of accredited training modules from Certificate I in IT and non accredited job search skills.
The program is delivered with a flexible approach offering an adult learning environment, small groups, self paced and facilitated by local coordinators and presenters.
The training component will comprise job search, skills recognition, basic computer training including Microsoft Word and Internet, resume writing, interview skills and application writing skills.
Becoming a Worker 2009-2010
This project will provide assistance to jobseekers with a disability in the Townsville area.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate I in Becoming a Worker including Personal Presentation and Development, Preparing for Work, Finding that Job, Occupational Health and Safety and Interview Techniques.
Chuulangun Employment, Training and Capacity Building Project - 2
This Green Army project will assist jobseekers surrounding the region of Chuulangun on Cape York wishing to enter the workforce in the Conservation and Land Management sector.
Participants will carry out activities such as weed and feral animal control, fencing, fire management, planting trees and shrubs, minor construction, fauna and flora survey and monitoring, and liaison with tourists and visitors.
Accredited modules in Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management will also be provided.
Doomadgee Rural Project
This project will assist jobseekers from Doomadgee with accredited training and work placement.
Participants will have an initial up-front assessment to establish an individualised assistance package.
Accredited training in Certificate II in Rural Operations will be delivered and participants will gain experience in horse riding, mustering and Branding stock, care of livestock, fencing and workplace health and safety.
Dugalunji Civil Construction and Mining Skills Prevocational Training Program
This project aims to address current skills shortages in the north western region of Queensland and increase Indigenous employment within the Resources and Civil Construction (infrastructure) industries.
Participants will undertake work placements, job preparation and accredited training in Senior First Aid, Emergency Response and Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations.
Employment Options
This project aims to provide job preparation assistance for participants from the Mt Isa area.
Participants will undertake an initial interview and skills audit to identify their needs, goals and potential barriers.
They will then receive individual assistance in job search and interview techniques, communication skills, resume and application preparation, motivation and confidence building, workplace etiquette, personal grooming and presentationFNQ Community Links 3
This project will assist long term unemployed people from Innisfail, Atherton, Kuranda and Babinda communities gain the necessary skills to re-enter the workforce.
Participants will undertake job preparation activities such as job readiness training including interview techniques, workplace etiquette, basic office procedures and help with resumes and job applications.
Accredited training will be provided in literacy and numeracy, Certificate I in Information Technology and Certificate II in Business Administration.

This project will assist mature-age persons from the Cairns area with job preparation, over a twelve month period.
Participants will receive assistance in career planning, work experience, interview techniques and resume preparation.
Get Into Transport and Logistics
This project aims to assist unemployed and underemployed jobseekers into employment in the transport and logistics industry through the provision of accredited training, work experience opportunities and job preparation assistance.
Participants will have an initial up front assessment to establish an individualised assistance package.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate II in Transport and Logistics training packages.
Gudjuda Natural Resource Management Team
This Green Army project will provide Indigenous traditional owners in the Burdekin region with an opportunity to gain ongoing employment in conservation and land management.
Participants will carry out a range of activities such as revegetation and regeneration, restoring degraded beaches and foreshores and landscaping using native plants.
Accredited training will be provided in Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management including modules in Occupational, Health and Safety and basic first aid.
Job Link Plus
This project will provide job preparation and accredited training to participants from the Cairns area.
Participants will undertake job preparation activities such as job search, resume preparation, interview techniques and personal development activities such as language and literacy, telephone skills, problem solving, stress management and goal setting.
Selected accredited training competencies will be delivered in Warehousing or Computer Skills with an opportunity to undertake work experience at a real workplace utilising the training received.
Marine Traineeship Development Program
This project aims to employ Indigenous jobseekers to undertake a 13 week work placement project in Townsville gaining experience in metal fabrication and welding.
Participants will also be offered job preparation assistance including non-accredited training, individual support and mentoring.
Accredited training in Certificate II in Fabrication (Welding) will be delivered through a combination of classroom and on the job activities.
Migrant Employment Service 2007-2010
This project aims to improve the employment prospects for refugee and migrant job seekers in the Cairns community.
Individual comprehensive case management will be offered to assist participants with barriers they are facing.
Accredited training will be based on individual skill requirements.
Nintiringanyi Lifeskills and Mentoring
This project aims to assist participants from the Cairns West area transition from unemployment and/or personal hardship towards a secure workplace and home environment.
Participants will be provided with job preparation activities, life skills training, coaching in work readiness and personal mentoring.
Northern Beaches SPACE (Skilling Parents and Carers for Employment)
The project aims to provide the parents and carers, long-term unemployed and Aboriginal and Torres Strait lslanders in the Northern Beach area the opportunity to participate in accredited and non-accredited training with a view to be placed into employment.
Accredited training will include First Aid, Food Handlers, Construction Blue Card, Warehousing, Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate II in Business, and Certificate I in Information Technology.
This will be complemented by non-accredited training covering leadership skills, communications skills, resume writing and interviewing skills.
RTA Destination Program 2
This project will provide unemployed Indigenous people from Aurukun with intensive job preparation and workplace exposure to mining operations.
Participants will receive training in vehicle operation, risk management, electrical awareness and cultural awareness before advancing to a fixed-term work placement.
A workplace mentor will assist participants throughout the program and fulltime work with the organisation may be offered on completion of the course.
Re Deploy Re Employ
This project will assist young people, parents and carers and other long term unemployed facing complex barriers to employment.
Participants will receive intense individualised assistance including job preparation, job search assistance, life skills, accredited and non accredited training, work experience and work placement support throughout this period.
The accredited training will be provided in tourism, hospitality, business administration, retail and construction.
Ready to Work Training
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist Indigenous persons from the Mossman Gorge community.
Job preparation participants will undertake training in workplace organisation, self esteem and confidence building, teamwork and life skills.
Accredited training in Certificate I in Work Readiness and four modules from Certificate II and III in Conservation and Land Management will also be delivered.
Serve the Community
This project will repair and maintain community housing in Mount Isa.
Participants will have an initial up-front assessment to establish an individualised assistance package.
Work placement activities will include carpentry and basic demolition, painting and decorating, removing and replacing doors and window furniture, wall and ceiling lining and scaffolding.
Skilling People for Work 2
This project will provide assistance to jobseekers in the Townsville area who are interested in employment in business administration or upgrading existing skills in this area.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with team work, problem solving, self-management, planning and organising and technology.
Accredited training in computing including basic and intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel, Access, PowerPoint and keyboarding will also be offered.
Skilling Queenslanders for Work
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation, work placement and accredited training to assist jobseekers from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
Job preparation assistance will be offered to prepare participants for searching and maintaining work.
Participants will then undertake a thirteen week work placement with not-for-profit organisations in the administration area.
Accredited training will be tailored to participants individual needs.
Skilling our Community 2
This project will provide job preparation and accredited training to jobseekers from the Burdekin area.
All participants will undergo pre-employment training and complete an initial skills analysis.
Job preparation activities will include preparation of resumes, job applications, interview techniques and post analysis of job application and interview/selection processes.
Accredited training will consist of identified modules in Certificate II in Information Technology and Certificate III in Business which are considered essential to modern business organisations.
Skilling the Community
This project aims to provide local unemployed people the opportunity to undertake a range of core skills that have been identified as a requirement for employment in the area.
Job preparation activities will consist of workplace communication, interview skills, resume development, job applications and access to local job agencies.
Accredited training will involve workshops and self-paced materials in keyboard skills and basic word processing, information technology, internet skills, use of basic business technologies and office resources, workplace health and safety.
The Choice Time Project
This Green Army project will assist local job seekers to improve their potential for long term sustainable employment.
Participants will undertake work activities in horticulture, gardening and landscaping aimed at improving local parks, gardens, bike paths and walking tracks.
Participants will also have access to job preparation assistance consisting of personal presentation, job search training and interview techniques.

This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist jobseekers from the Townsville region.
Job preparation participants will be assisted with resume writing, communication, problem solving and interview techniques.
Accredited training will be provided in principles of Occupational Health and Safety in a Work Environment, using Tools and Equipment and developing Job Acquisition Strategies.
Work 'n' Place 2007/08 to 2009/10
The Work 'n' Place 2009-10 project will provide opportunities across Queensland for people suffering with mental health issues enter into ongoing paid employment.
This project is being delivered as part of the Government's commitment under the National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011.
The model developed by Mental Health Association allows for a greater deal of flexibility geographically, in the nature of work placements available to participants and in the work/study mix.
Young Artist Mentoring Program & NAVIGATION - Arts Business Training for Emerging Artists & Art Workers 2008-2010
This project aims to offer a range of integrated services to assist young people make a career in the Arts industry.
Participants will either be mentored by a member of the arts industry with specialist support and an involvement in a project partnership, or undertake an arts business program utilising accredited training modules in Business and the Arts.

2009 Get Set for Work
The aim of this project is to support young Indigenous people who have left or are at risk of leaving mainstream education and to assist with their return to school, further training or employment.
Participants will also be provided with life and work readiness skills.
Training will be supported by literacy and numeracy activities and will focus on cultural awareness, pre-vocational training, job search training, and a social and cultural program.
Get Set For Work - Break Thru in Townsville
This project will provide alternative education for young people disengaged from mainstream education and provide support when transitioning to a career that best matches their interests.
Participants will have access to a range of flexible services such as job preparation, training, numeracy and literacy support, Indigenous mentoring, work readiness, job search, workplace orientation and job specific conditioning.
Get Set For Work - Mareeba 2009
This project will provide individualised assistance aimed at re-engaging young people back into education, training or employment across the Northern Tablelands area.
Participants will be offered assistance under the organisation's Engage, Enthuse and Empower program which will include an initial workshop to assist in the development of individual training plans, life skills, job preparation, work experience, and industry visits.
Accredited training will also be offered to participants in Certificate I in Employment Skills as well as other accredited training modules identified on the participant's individual learning plan.
Get Set For Work - Qld Youth Services
This project will provide assistance to young people aged 15-17 years old from the Hinchinbrook region.
Participants will be supported through practical development of vocational skills, personal development, job preparation and participation in youth activities.
Participants will also have the opportunity to undertake accredited training in business, art, automotive, hair and beauty, retail and community service.
Get Set for Work
This project will assist young people aged 15-17 years who are disengaged or at risk of becoming disengaged from school prior to completing Year 12.
Participants will undertake job preparation activities.
Accredited training will be delivered in Certificate I in Construction and/or Certificate I in Land Management.
Work placement participants will assist with the construction of bench seating, picnic tables, nesting boxes, bollards and sand ladders.
Get Set for Work - Get Going Cairns and Atherton 2008
This project will provide support to disengaged, self excluded and at risk youths from the Cairns and the southern Atherton tablelands transition into employment or further education and training.
Participants will be offered assistance in life skills, career planning, literacy and numeracy, self esteem, customer service, basic work readiness and resume writing.
Participants will also be offered the opportunity to undertake competencies from Certificate I in Business.
Get Set for Work - Thursday Island
This project will be delivered on Thursday Island and aims to provide support to youth disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school.
Participants will be offered job preparation activities, work experience, accredited training in Certificate I in Business, First Aid and paid work placements with host employers.

ROAMING REMOTE
This Get Set for Work project aims to enhance employment opportunities and improve the confidence of disadvantaged youths within the Weipa and Western Cape York areas.
The program will offer four intakes over a twelve month period and will provide social support and mentoring to young people within a case managed framework.
Activities provided through this program will include work readiness, building self esteem, life skills training and work experience.
Participants will also complete selected competencies from Certificate I in Business.

Community Mobility Project
This project will provide a holistic and culturally appropriate program to support Indigenous people who have relocated to Social Housing within Townsville.
The assistance will be provided in collaboration with Department of Housing and address a range of barriers that individual's face when entering the workforce or further education/training.
A major focus will be to ensure individual's are not overlooked by current programs and are appropriately supported to participate in relevant services.
Participants will develop a range of skills and abilities to participate and improve their workforce participation, this will be tailored for each individual and will include, budgeting, career planning, guidance, life skills, understanding the labour market, negotiating assistance for human services, placements in local employment and addressing barriers such as child care and schooling.

'Retail Futures'
This project aims to create an opportunity for participants from the Townsville area to enter the retail industry.
Participants will have an initial upfront assessment and access to job preparation activities before undertaking a full accredited qualification in Certificate II in Retail.
FNQ Career Pathway Program
This project will provide assistance to jobseekers in the Cairns and Innisfail regions to enter the aged care industries.
Pre-employment assistance will be provided through the development of an individualised program using training needs analysis and an individualised skills audit.
Participants will receive accredited training in Certificate III in Aged Care.
Retail Ready Skilling PPP
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist jobseekers from Fortitude Valley, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Cairns and Maroochydore areas to obtain employment in the retail industry.
Assistance will be provided to participants with job search skills, personal development and work experience.
Participants will undertake accredited training to obtain a full qualification in either Certificate II in Retail or Certificate III in Retail.
