Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects offer jobseekers customised employment and training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Community Literacy Program offers customised language, literacy and numeracy training assistance and helps Queensland to meet the demands of the labour market for a skilled workforce.
Get Set for Work offers a transition pathway towards getting a job, returning to school, or continuing with other education or training for fifteen to seventeen year olds who have left school, or are at risk of leaving before year 12.
Queenslanders Working Together is a federal government initiative administered through Skilling Queenslanders for Work which offers training and employment assistance primarily for parental and mature age jobseekers to boost employment prospects. Current projects are operating until June 2009 and no new contracts will be issued under this program.
Participate in Prosperity (PiP) is a Skilling Queenslanders for Work strategy helping link disadvantaged people who are outside the labour force with government services and assistance to create pathways to employment and increase their social inclusion.
Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future policy. A component of the job seeker training places are administered under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative to assist job seekers gain Certificate II and III level qualifications in priority skill areas. Additional job seeker places will be available through a range of strategies including a public RTO tender process administered by the Department of Education and Training.

ACCESS EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS - SOUTH WEST CORRIDOR 2009/10
This project will provide job preparation for newly arrived migrants and refugees who are settling in the Ipswich/Inala corridor and for jobseekers in the Inala, Carole Park and Acacia Ridge areas.
Job preparation will include an upfront skills audit for participants, followed by customised job search training, developing life-skills (such as transport and child care issues) and an introduction to the Australian workplace environment.
Assistance will also be provided for participants wishing to achieve recognised prior learning.
AFRICAN JOB PREPARATION PROGRAM 2009/10
This project will provide job preparation and accredited training for culturally and linguistically diverse jobseekers and aims to help participants overcome barriers to entering the workforce.
Accredited training will include language, literacy and numeracy and, where necessary, the construction industry General Safety Induction.
Job preparation will include basic computer skills training, an introduction to Australian social and workplace values and job search training.
Assistance with job placement and translation/interpretation will be provided on 'as needs basis'.
Back To Work 2008-09
The Back to Work Program focuses mainly on mature-age participants in rural and remote localities.
Participants will be offered a combination of accredited training modules from Certificate I in IT and non accredited job search skills.
The program is delivered with a flexible approach offering an adult learning environment, small groups, self paced and facilitated by local coordinators and presenters.
The training component will comprise job search, skills recognition, basic computer training including Microsoft Word and Internet, resume writing, interview skills and application writing skills.
BoysTown Enterprise Learning
This project will assist Year 10 students from Woodridge and Mabel Park State High Schools, who are at risk of early disengagement, with work placement activities for two days per week.
Participants will be involved in minor maintenance and construction projects within local primary schools.
The project aims to transition participating students into school-based construction apprenticeships commencing in Year 11.
Boystown Youth Engagement Project
This project will assist multi-disadvantaged young people between 17 and 25 years of age transition into employment through job preparation and work placement programs.
Participants undertaking job preparation in Inala, Kingston and Redlands areas will receive comprehensive job search training and Certificate II level units in Hospitality, Retail and Warehousing.
Two Green Army work placements will involve participants rehabilitating bushland and improving public access to Berrinba Wetlands.
Two construction-based work placements will involve refurbishment of recreational facilities at a nursing home.
Breaking Through the Barriers
This project will provide job preparation and, where appropriate, accredited training for mature-age jobseekers and people returning to the workforce in Brisbane's Redlands and Bayside areas.
Job preparation will include various job search training and self-marketing activities.
Retail sector accredited training will include units such as point-of-sale procedures, customer interaction, minimising theft, merchandise products and selling products and services.
Choose Your Career
This project will provide job preparation for the long-term unemployed or people with a disability in Brisbane's Redlands area.
Job preparation will include training in job search techniques, basic computing, career planning, customer service, team-building and workplace health and safety.
Participants will be assisted in locating work experience with the organisation's local employer network.
DEADLY JOBS PROJECT - LOGAN
This project aims to assist labour market disadvantaged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander jobseekers over 25 years of age in the Logan area with job preparation specifically designed for Indigenous participants.
After an initial skills audit and literacy, numeracy and personal assessments, participants will undertake a combination of training in life skills, work preparation and job search techniques, all provided in a culturally appropriate environment.
Eagle Placement Indigenous Employment
This project provides individually case-managed job preparation for Indigenous job-seekers and includes culturally appropriate training in the fields of basic literacy and numeracy, job search training and life-skills.
Foot In The Door
This project aims to provide a range of activities including job preparation, work placement and accredited training to assist jobseekers from the Wynnum, Manly and Lindum areas.
Participants will have an initial up front assessment and individual assistance will be provided.
Job preparation assistance will include job search techniques, resume development, interview skills and tips on how to answer to selection criteria.
Participants will be offered accredited training in Certificate I & II in Business and hosted by not-for-profit organisations to undertake on-the-job training in an office environment.
GFC...GOING FORWARD IN CONSTRUCTION
This project is comprised of three work placements that target long-term unemployed participants from regions of particularly high unemployment in Brisbane's southern suburbs.
The first work placement is at Rocklea and involves the refurbishment and repair of a warehouse facility operated by the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland.
The remaining work placements, one of which is a Green Army project, are currently under development.
Job preparation training will be embedded into the projects and participants will undertake the General Safety Induction course and either Certificate I in General Construction or Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations.
Get Into Transport and Logistics
This project aims to assist unemployed and underemployed jobseekers into employment in the transport and logistics industry through the provision of accredited training, work experience opportunities and job preparation assistance.
Participants will have an initial up front assessment to establish an individualised assistance package.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from Certificate II in Transport and Logistics training packages.
Getting Out and Getting Started 2009/10
This project is comprised of separate job preparation, accredited training and work placement activities and aims to assist disadvantaged job-seekers in South and East Brisbane.
Job preparation participants will receive literacy and numeracy support, comprehensive job search training, career development, basic computing tuition and personal development activities.
Accredited training participants will undertake core competencies from Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage).
The work placement is a Queensland Green Army project and involves the construction of an environmentally-friendly "Green Shed".
Going Places
This Queensland Green Army project will improve the grounds at Beenleigh State School and target disadvantaged job seekers.
Work activities will include bushland regeneration, creating a water feature, reducing the effects of erosion and constructing gardens, natural walkways and a greenhouse.
A job preparation component is included in this project for additional participants and will focus on job search methods and techniques, basic computer use, household budgeting and other life skills.
Gold Coast Skills Project
This project aims to assist people with a disability or Indigenous people in the Mudgeeraba/Nerang areas into work through a combination of accredited training and work placement.
A variety of work placement locations will provide participants with experience in landscaping, painting, tiling and turfing.
Participants will receive accredited training in General Safety Induction and selected modules from Certificate I or II in General Construction.
Assistance with job-search techniques and individualised case management will also be provided.
Gold Coast Work Matters 3
This project will provide long-term unemployed people from across the Southern Gold Coast, particularly mature-age parents and carers, with individually tailored job preparation assistance.
Job preparation activities and initiatives will include referrals to complementary services, job search and life-skills training, developing a Customised Assistance Plan and assistance in sourcing child care services.
Gold Coast Work Placement Program
This Queensland Green Army project will support the upgrade of Southport Broadwater Parklands, improve access to the William Duncan School open space and refurbish the Gold Coast Christian Youth Camp.
Work activities will include landscaping, weed and debris removal, erosion and drainage mitigation works and basic construction.
Participants will also have the opportunity to undertake specific training in Traffic Control, accredited modules in Certificate II in Horticulture, Senior First Aid, Construction Blue Card and chainsaw and forklift tickets.
Industry Skills Package
This project aims to provide long-term unemployed or underemployed people with accredited training and job preparation that aims to transition participants into either traffic control or warehousing.
The traffic control course includes the licence fee and construction a 'Blue Card' training plus practical support in the provision of equipment.
Participants undertaking the warehousing course will be exposed to a simulated work environment, receive forklift training and study select accredited training units from Certificate I and II in Transport & Logistics (Warehousing and Storage).
Kalwun Employment Assistance Program
This project aims to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from the Gold Coast secure employment through the provision of job preparation and training in a culturally appropriate environment.
The Program will expose participants to workplaces with skills shortages and give them the opportunity to examine pathways to these industries.
Individualised pre- and post-employment case management and workshops covering job readiness will also be provided.
Main Roads Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Training and Employment Program
This project aims to assist Indigenous jobseekers enter the Civil Construction industry.
Participants will enter an eight-week induction which includes elements of accredited, non-accredited training and work experience.
Participants will undertake a traineeship in Civil Construction (Certificate II) with the Department of Transport and Main Roads which incorporates work placements hosted by a number of the Department's partners.
Potential exists for trainees to be offered permanent positions with partnering organisations.
Migrants Matter III - 2009/10 - Multicultural Employment Initiative
This project will provide case-managed job preparation for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse jobseekers.
Job preparation will include job search techniques and methods, assistance with Australian organisational and cultural awareness, guidance towards formal recognition of migrant qualifications and a Business Start Up Program.
Participants will also undertake life-skills and financial capacity awareness training.
Mirikai Jobskills/IT Program
This project will provide accredited training to people from the Mirikai Residential Therapeutic Community with the ultimate aim of transitioning participants into the workforce.
Selected modules from Certificate I in Workplace Access will be delivered including assistance in job search, interviews and computing.
Multicultural Employment Program 2009/10
This project aims to improve employment prospects for jobseekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with job preparation and, in some cases, supplemented with work placement.
Job preparation includes literacy and numeracy assessment and assistance, training in Australian work practices and living skills, job search activities and referral services.
Work placement will involve a range of administrative and office duties with community organisations.
Muslim Labour Market Participation
This project will consist of two employment workers who identify with the Islamic faith to engage in activities to support unemployed Muslim people who are disadvantaged in the labour market.
The workers have a particular focus on examining the barriers to employment for Muslim people and engaging in strategies to overcome these barriers in order to increase the involvement of Muslim people in the workforce.
New Skills That Work
This project will assist long-term unemployed and underemployed people from the middle and southern Gold Coast area with Job Preparation or Accredited Training.
Job Preparation for participants will include job search techniques and modules on communication and marketing skills.
Accredited Training participants will choose from units in Business/MYOB, Microsoft Office, Aged Care or Children's Services.
Transport will be offered to and from project venues.
Northern Gold Coast Employment Initiative 3
This project aims to provide long-term unemployed or underemployed people with personal development and job preparation assistance.
Participants will receive case-managed training in job search methods and undertake training in a variety of areas such as computing and café operations (barista course).
PCYC Improving Communities
This project is comprised of three work placement sub-projects for jobseekers in the Beenleigh and Gold Coast areas that aim to renovate and landscape high schools and a senior citizen's centre.
All sub programs will incorporate accredited training and job preparation, with one sub project classified as a Queensland Green Army Project.
Participants will undertake work activities such as landscaping, paving, constructing outdoor furniture and drainage.
Green Army training will include bush regeneration, plant identification and introductions to soil biology and permaculture systems.
Projects for the People
This project aims to provide practical work experience to disadvantaged jobseekers within the Logan West and Jimboomba areas to assist them to enter or re-enter the workforce.
Job preparation assistance will include career planning, awareness of social and work environments and job search.
Work placement activities will focus on basic construction and revegetation activities including site preparations, retaining wall construction, concreting, paving, tiling, fencing and internal and external house restorations.
Participants will also have the opportunity to complete Senior First Aid and Blue Card (Construction) certificates and traffic control and forklift licences.
Redlands-Bayside Specialised Training and Employment Program for People with Disabilities
This project aims to provide job preparation and accredited training assistance to jobseekers over a ten month period.
Participants will develop employability skills through a specifically designed pre-employment skills training course for people with a disability.
Training provided through this project includes vocational awareness, personal presentation and development, preparing for work, interview techniques, work ethics, occupational health and safety and workplace communication.
Participants will also undertake a literacy and numeracy assessment and support will be provided as required.
SKILLING QUEENSLANDERS FOR WORK
This project aims to improve employment prospects for disadvantaged jobseekers from the Slacks Creek, Beenleigh and Capalaba areas with two accredited training programs.
Participants in the first program 'Caring for Kids' will undertake a Certificate III in Children's Services which includes a vocational placement.
Participants in the 'Autom8' program will undertake a Certificate I Automotive/Certificate I Skills for the Future, learn in a simulated on-site workshop and undergo a vocational placement.
Both programs offer additional job search and life-skills training.
STEPS - Skilling, Training & Employment Project
This project aims to assist people with a disability who are living on the Gold Coast develop work-readiness skills and enhance existing competencies with practical accredited training and learning experiences.
The Learning for Life course addresses core personal development and work-related competencies in administration, horticulture or hospitality in a manner that best suits each individual.
Skilling Logan for Work
This project will provide disadvantaged jobseekers from the Logan area, principally parents and carers, with job preparation and accredited training that aims to direct participants into the community service industry.
Job preparation will include literacy, numeracy and computer training, confidence-building, workplace familiarity training and acquiring various life-skills.
Accredited training units will be offered from Certificate II in Child Services, Certificate III in Disability Work and/or Certificate III in Disability Work.
Skilling Queenslanders for Work - Goori House
This project aims to assist Indigenous men in the Cleveland area with an individualised approach to job preparation.
Participants will have a range of education and training opportunities including literacy and numeracy assessment and assistance, basic computer skills, goal setting, budgeting and jobs-search techniques.
Skilling the Community Services Industry
This project aims to assist people who are employed 24 hours per week or less in the community sector in South Brisbane or people unable to secure full-time employment because they lack the necessary skills.
Accredited training with Recognition of Prior Learning will be in the following qualifications: Certificate IV Community Services Work; Diploma of Community Welfare Work; Certificate III and IV in Disability Work; Diploma of Disability Work; Diploma of Community Development; Certificate in Mental Health Work (non clinical); Certificate IV in Community Services (Service Coordination); Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs Work and Diploma of Alcohol and other Drugs Work.
Skills 4 Life (S4L) Stage 3
This project provides job preparation and accredited training for long-term unemployed or underemployed people from the Beenleigh, Eagleby, Browns Plains and Woodridge areas.
Job preparation will include job search techniques and methods, boosting motivation and developing social skills.
Accredited training will include units in construction, engineering, business, warehousing, transport and distribution, community services, educational support and information technology.
Smart Choices for Jobs & Training
This project aims to improve employment prospects for long-term unemployed jobseekers, including parents and carers, living in the Beenleigh and Gold Coast areas.
Job preparation assistance will be offered in job search training, basic computer training, life-skills, goal-setting and improving self esteem.
Stepping Up
This project aims to assist Indigenous people who are attached to the School community into employment through the delivery of accredited training in Certificate I Work Education.
Training will incorporate workplace literacy, computer literacy, letter writing and resume preparation.
The program will also include a work experience component, allowing participant involvement with various School functions such as administration, welfare, grounds keeping and food preparation.
TAFE Specialised Training and Employment Program for Students with Disabilities
This project will provide job preparation to TAFE students with a disability who are in need of ongoing support to improve their opportunities for successful transition from study to employment.
Job preparation will include various job search training, career counselling and referrals to other support agencies and networks.
Way Ahead 2009/10
This project will assist parents and carers and other disadvantaged jobseekers from the Inala area transition into employment with a combination of individually tailored job preparation and accredited training.
Job preparation will involve comprehensive life-skills and job-search training and literacy and numeracy assistance where necessary.
A flexible approach to accredited training will allow participants to choose from a number of core competencies such as First Aid, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Ensure Children's Health and Safety among others.
Way Forward
This Queensland Green Army project will establish a community-based environmental awareness strategy utilising various media and research techniques.
Participants will undertake work placement activities such as website creation and management, acquiring computer software skills, customer service and events management.
The project will have separate job preparation and accredited training components for additional participants.
Job preparation will include help with job search methods and techniques, workplace tours and career planning.
Accredited training includes a suite of administration and hospitality-based competenciesWomen Exiting Prison - Pathways
The Women Exiting Prison - Pathways program will open employment and training pathways for women exiting, or who have just exited prison and are re-establishing themselves and their children in the community.
Participants will receive an initial assessment then use the one-on-one case management approach, progress to life skills and job preparation assistance and accredited training in Certificate II in Business Skills for Workforce Re-Entry.
Work 'n' Place 2007/08 to 2009/10
The Work 'n' Place 2009-10 project will provide opportunities across Queensland for people suffering with mental health issues enter into ongoing paid employment.
This project is being delivered as part of the Government's commitment under the National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011.
The model developed by Mental Health Association allows for a greater deal of flexibility geographically, in the nature of work placements available to participants and in the work/study mix.
Work Out
This project aims to assist parents and carers return to the workforce through job preparation activities.
Participants will receive a skills-assessment before undertaking a combination of job search training, personal development advice and an introduction to the fields of childcare, retail, health, community services, hospitality and information technology.
Eligible participants may receive assistance with childcare and transport.
Work Placement and Job Preparation 2009/2010
This project consists of six sub-projects -- three work placements, one Green Army work placement and two job preparation projects.
Two work placement projects will target either Indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse participants and introduce them to a range of possible employment opportunities with the Council depending on their interests and background.
An additional work placement aims to place overseas trained teachers in primary or secondary schools with increasing numbers of migrant and refugee students.
The Green Army project will involve various environmental and conservation initiatives within the Council.
Job preparation projects will target Indigenous participants and provide job search training and core units from Certificate II in Business Administration or people recovering from long-term substance abuse who may transition into Council traineeships.
Young Artist Mentoring Program & NAVIGATION - Arts Business Training for Emerging Artists & Art Workers 2008-2010
This project aims to offer a range of integrated services to assist young people make a career in the Arts industry.
Participants will either be mentored by a member of the arts industry with specialist support and an involvement in a project partnership, or undertake an arts business program utilising accredited training modules in Business and the Arts.
Your Future Pathways (Linked Learning)
The program aims to provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist jobseekers in rural and remote areas of Queensland.
Participants will be offered job search activities including resume writing and interview skills.
Selected accredited training modules will be delivered from adult literacy and numeracy, Certificate 1 in Information Technology, Certificate II in Business Skills for workforce entry and TAFE Readiness Pathway Program.
Your Turn
This project aims to assist 80 long-term unemployed, parents and carers, mature-age jobseekers and ex-offenders into employment through accredited training and job preparation.
Accredited training will include competencies in job search and basic computer skills.
Job preparation will focus on personal development and goal-setting.
Where necessary, transport and child care assistance is available for participants.

Build Up
This project aims to assist disengaged and 'at risk' 15 to 17 year olds from Coopers Plains and surrounding areas, predominately from a Pacific Island background, to secure work, further training or return to education.
Job preparation will focus on life-skills, personal development and literacy and numeracy.
Accredited training, with accompanying work experience placements, will consist of units in general construction and general safety induction, with an additional opportunity to engage in a learner's licence training program.
Get Set For Work - BABI
This project will assist disengaged youth, or youth who are at risk of disengaging from mainstream education from the Wynnum Manly area with an individually tailored mix of job preparation and accredited training.

This project will assist disengaged and "at risk" young people from Logan and Beaudesert areas with a mix of job preparation and accredited training.
Job preparation will include a variety of life-skills such as self esteem building, adventure-based learning activities and job search techniques.
Participants will attend TAFE one day each week to complete various "Taste Tester" accredited training units in multimedia, business, child care, tourism, retail, hospitality, construction, beauty therapy and hairdressing.
Get Set for Work - Boystown
This Get Set for Work project aims to provide a program aligned to regional priorities.
The program will offer four intakes over a twelve month period.
This program will be delivered to young people within a case management framework to provide young people with individualised assistance to transition to employment and further education or training.
Activities provided through this program will include life skills training, employability skills, accredited training, industry visits, work experience and literacy and numeracy training.

This project will assist disengaged youth from the Redlands area with an individually tailored mix of job preparation and accredited training.

Get Set for Work - Bridging the Gap
This project aims to assist participants between 15 and 17 years of age, particularly migrants, people with disabilities and Indigenous Australians from Coomera West to Mt Tamborine and south to Surfers Paradise and Benowa.
The job preparation component addresses a number of personal development issues with the nationally recognised early intervention program "Why Try" including problem solving, anger management and building self-esteem.
The accredited training in Certificates I or II in Introductory Vocational Education will be delivered through the Business, Engineering and Retail training packages.

This project aims to assist at risk or disengaged youth (15 to 17 year olds) residing in the Mt Gravatt, Mansfield, Holland Park and Camp Hill suburbs of Brisbane with job preparation and accredited training.
Participants will be involved in activities such as improving interview skills and resume writing, worksite tours, recreation and social activities, project work and learner licence preparation.
Accredited training in Certificate I Skills for the Future will be delivered and include a work experience element.
Get Set for Work - Finding a New Direction
This project aims to assist young people between 15 to 17 years of age from Beaudesert and Jimboomba areas who have disengaged from school and/or employment.
Individual development plans will be completed for each participant and include activities such as personal development, adventure-based learning, work experience and assistance with literacy and numeracy.
Accredited training options will include construction blue card, hospitality, information technology, first aid, self development and awareness, driver awareness, business and retail.
Get Set for Work - Jobcare/Sails
This Get Set for Work project aims to provide job preparation and accredited training assistance to help young people obtain employment .
Assistance will include team building activities, horticulture, basic carpentry, literacy and numeracy, workplace awareness.
Accredited training will be delivered in in Certificate I in Business.
The project will offer three intakes over a twelve month period.
Get Set for Work - Miami/Palm Beach
This project aims to assist at risk or disengaged youth (15 to 17 year olds) residing in the Gold Coast South area, particularly Miami and Palm Beach, with job preparation and accredited training.
Participants will be involved in activities such as literacy and numeracy support, employment and personal skills and in some cases, work experience and introductory vocational training.
Selected accredited training modules will be offered from Certificate I in Automotive and Certificate II Hospitality.
The program will have a complementary bus service to help participants access the program.
Get Set for Work - PCYC
This Get Set for Work project aims to provide activities that will prepare young people for entry into employment, training or return to school.
Participants will receive assistance in developing team work, life skills and vocational training.
Accredited training provided will include Certificate I in Skills for the Future, Senior First Aid and Blue Card.
Ongoing support will be provided by conducting monthly meetings with participants and parents.
Get Set for Work - Southside Education
This project will assist disengaged and "at risk" young women from the Sunnybank area with a three-phase mix of job preparation and accredited training.
Phase one involves the development of individual support plans.
Phase two includes a choice of accredited training in fields such as hospitality, business, visual arts and workplace practices.
Career mentoring, work experience and literacy and numeracy support will also be included.
Phase three is comprised of a variety of post program support initiatives.
Get Set for Work - The Spot Community Services - Browns Plains
This project aims to assist disengaged and 'at risk' 15 to 17 year olds from Browns Plains, Yugumbir, Regents Park, Boronia Heights, Rocklea, Nyanda, Park Ridge, Jimboomba and Flagstone areas, particularly African refugees and Pacific Islanders.
The project will contain elements of job preparation and accredited training and focus on multi-media and construction.
Core job preparation activities will include career mapping, life skills training, literacy and numeracy and job search skills training.
Accredited training will include Certificate I in Work Education with additional training in Senior First Aid and Blue Card Construction.
Get Set for Work - Youth Matters
This project aims to assist disengaged and 'at risk' youth between 15 to 17 years of age from the Logan area to develop their personal and social skills with a combination of job preparation and accredited training.

This project aims to assist disengaged and 'at risk' 15-17 year olds, primarily Indigenous youths, from the Nerang area increase their future employment and education outcomes through a combination of job preparation and accredited training.
Participants will receive job preparation assistance as well as literacy and numeracy development, life skills and cultural awareness training.
Accredited training will be offered in Communication Skills, First Aid, Responsible Service of Alcohol and the Construction Blue Card.
Refugee Program
This project aims to assist disengaged refugees aged 15 to 19 who face both cultural and literacy barriers to school and work.
Participants will undertake the existing school curriculum for half the week and a combination of job preparation and accredited training for the remainder of the week.
Job preparation activities will include social and life skills, industry visits and work experience and job search and preparation skills.
Participants will receive a 'taster' of various cross-industry accredited training competencies as well as selected modules in Certificate I in IT and Certificate I Work Force Preparation Skills.
Refugees Ready for Work
This project aims to assist disengaged and 'at risk' 15 to 17 year olds from the Annerley, Yeronga and Moorooka areas, primarily east African refugees, to secure work, further training or continue their education.
A combination of individually tailored job preparation and accredited training will engage participants in a variety of construction projects at Yeronga State High School and involve Bricklaying, carpentry, painting and concreting.
All participants will undertake accredited training in General Safety Induction.
Introducing participants to the nature of the Australian workplace and possible career pathways are key objectives.

A Hero's Journey 2009/10
This project aims to increase access to employment and life-skills acquisition for people with a mental health illness or psychiatric disability from the South West Metropolitan corridor who are experiencing multiple barriers to workforce engagement.
Participants will have an initial up-front assessment with case managers to establish an individualised assistance package which may include budgeting, career planning, vocational training and education, health support and leisure pursuits.
CRESTMEAD JOBLIFT
This project will fund the employment of a full time specialist coordinator who will offer support to disadvantaged jobseekers within the Logan area who are experiencing transportation difficulties to gaining sustainable employment.
This project, Crestmead Job Access Cab, is modelled on the Logan City "Council Cabs" service which has proven successful.
The coordinator will maintain a register of participants using the service and will also liaise with Job Services Australia members, Centrelink and other support agencies to identify jobseekers who can successfully use this service.
Inala Advantage 2009/10
This Participate in Prosperity project will provide an intensive case management intervention aimed at improving the employment and training opportunities for disadvantaged jobseekers within the Inala and Carole Park areas.
The suite of individualised and family assistance provided will include life skills and personal development training, literacy and numeracy, basic IT and support.
Referral and advocacy assistance will also be provided to participants to ensure appropriate assistance from agencies and government departments.
MICAH PIP FOR JOBLESS FAMILIES
This project aims to increase access to employment and skills acquisition for low income and low-skilled individual jobseekers from South Brisbane who are expecting a child, already parents or homeless.
Participants will have an initial up-front assessment with employment case managers to establish an individualised assistance package which may include budgeting and career planning, training to help understand the labour market and proactive referrals to education and employment programs.
Participants will receive a minimum six months of post-project support to help with the transition into employment.
Participate in Prosperity - 2008/09
This project will increase access to employment and skills acquisition for young Indigenous people, refugees/migrants and people with disability in the South West Metro Brisbane area.
Participants will have an initial up-front assessment and an individualised assistance package will be designed to assist them with career planning, life skills, linking with assistance from Australian Government funded agencies, brokering assistance from other support agencies and placements in local employment programs.
Participate in Prosperity Case Management
This project aims to assist individuals in the Beenleigh and Woodridge areas who are experiencing multiple barriers to employment.
Participants will be assisted with family budgeting, career planning and linking with Australian Government agencies such as Centrelink and other human services dealing with housing and health.
Participants may also be eligible for financial assistance in areas such as training, transport, childcare, work equipment, immediate housing and utility issues.

Aged Care Training
This project will assist long-term unemployed, underemployed and disadvantaged people in the Gold Coast region who are seeking work in the aged care sector with accredited training in the full Certificate III Aged Care qualification.
Participants will also gain work experience placements, career planning and job search skills.
Career Keys PPP
This project will assist people who are currently disadvantaged in the labour market to transition into administration or youth work with targeted accredited training.
Participants will undertake either the full Certificate II in Business Administration or Certificate III in Youth Work.
Participants undertaking the Youth Work qualification will receive support in finding a vocational placement and some barriers to participation such as transport or family commitments will be addressed where possible prior to program commencement.
Children's Services - Productivity Placement Program
This project will assist the long-term unemployed and parents and carers transition into the children's services industry with targeted accredited training.
Participants will undertake a full Certificate III in Children's Services including industry placement.
Additional training in job search methods and life-skills will be included.

Basic team building activities and access to literacy support is also included.
Pathway to Child Care Gold Coast
This project will assist long-term unemployed in the Gold Coast region who seek work in the child care sector with accredited training in the full Certificate III Children's Services qualification.
The project will include 15 study weeks and five weeks of vocational placement at a child care centre.
People Helping People
This project aims to assist disadvantaged job seekers in the Brisbane South and Toowoomba areas to enter into the aged care or horticulture sectors.
Participants will be assisted with development of life and personal skills, employability skills and job search techniques and will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate II in Horticulture or Certificate III in Aged Care.
Productivity Skills Training
This project will assist unemployed parents and carers, older jobseekers and young people aged 18-24 from the Coorparoo, Manly, Beenleigh and Miami areas with the opportunity to complete the full Certificate II in Security Operations or Certificate III in Aged Care Work.
Participants will also receive job preparation assistance.
Retail Ready Skilling PPP
This project will provide a range of activities including job preparation and accredited training to assist jobseekers from Fortitude Valley, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Cairns and Maroochydore areas to obtain employment in the retail industry.
Assistance will be provided to participants with job search skills, personal development and work experience.
Participants will undertake accredited training to obtain a full qualification in either Certificate II in Retail or Certificate III in Retail.
Trained and Ready for Work
This project will assist people who are currently disadvantaged in the labour market to transition into either the hospitality or transport sectors with targeted accredited training.
Participants will undertake either the full Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport) or Certificate II Hospitality (Operations).
Participants will also undertake job preparation including job search training and work experience with local businesses.
